Known for his strategic approach, clear communication, and relentless advocacy, he represents clients in criminal defense, personal injury, civil litigation, and business disputes.
Raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Derick built a foundation that continues to shape his practice today: providing clients with practical guidance, honest advice, and aggressive representation when it matters most. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University and his Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

During law school, he worked alongside seasoned trial attorneys in criminal matters ranging from violent capital-level offenses to drug-related crimes. He also served as a student attorney representing indigent clients in Harris County, Texas. This hands-on experience provided early exposure to complex litigation, courtroom advocacy, and the high stakes clients face when their freedom and future are on the line.
Licensed in Texas, Missouri, Massachusetts, and Illinois, Derick also regularly represents clients nationwide through pro hac vice admissions. Whether defending criminal charges, pursuing compensation for injury victims, or resolving complex business and civil disputes, he approaches every case with preparation, precision, and determination.
